Lap Frame Comments/Suggestions

I am hoping to purchase a lap frame; I have a floor frame but no longer the room required for it. So -- what lap frame(s) do you have and recommend??? I have seen the Gripit Legend Sit on It and would particularly welcome comments about it. I do need something that will adapt for Q-snaps as well as scroll frames.

Thanks for your comments!

I love my artisan designs Elan lap stand - I have the sit on it, and find it very jiggly unless you are sitting on a hard surface. The elan works well with all kinds of situations - I've used it with a large scross frame as well as with hoops. You can adjust the width of it, so that it balances when you are working on a large piece. It also comes apart and then you can screw all the pieces to the base for compact carrying when travelling. :)

Have and use that one. When i need to bring things with me I always put it on the Rod 'N Roll.

Can you use q-snaps as well as scroll frames? If so, does that mean an adapter is needed?

I believe it would hold just about anything, it opens up that wide. In fact I believe the woman who I got the recommendation from used q-snaps on it - but it has been a couple years so don't quote me on that ;-) This is their website:

I just went and looked at thier stuff. Guess I now know what I want for my birthday - 1 Ergo stand pluss accessories.

Let's see - birthday in mid-July. I'll get the stand AND the new Harry Potter book at the same time. Stitch or read, stitch or read. which to do next. Decisions, decisions.....

I bought my frame at the CATS ... a few years ago.

I wanted something that would 'fit around me' as I sat on my recliner!!!! And the one I got is perfect for that. It's not resting *on* my lap, I don't sit on it ... it rests outside of my thighs.

There is something similar at this site:
