Lily Pond Dreams Question

I am about to finish the wings from this pattern but am not understanding the two lines of gold that come off of the right wing and taper into the border. They look out of place or, perhaps I am not seeing their purpose? They almost look like a pattern error.

I'm wondering what you all think about just omitting both lines.

Funny you mention that! I've looked at that pattern several times and kept thinking something looked "off" - now I know what!

You could just leave them out or contact the designer.

I would go to the main page for Black Swan Designs and email them and ask the question. If you receive an answer, please post it.

Do you think they are supposed to be antenna that were misplaced coming out from her shoulders instead of her head? If they bother you I would just leave them out.

Good suggestion George, thank you. I have now done so and will post any reply I might get...

Ah, Mavia, I had not thought of antenna. I need now to look up other fairies and check for antenna. Thanks

I see those lines as outlining a main, transparent wing, with the stitched bits being highlight areas. Then the two "wings" above are the top bits of a two part wing--if you see it like that, she has wings like a butterfly, not a dragonfly.

OK, I've made a decision to omit the lines in question. I am fairly convinced that they are either antenna or a transparent wing. That's certainly more than I could have guessed on my own so I thank all those who replied.

Should I get a reply from Black Swan Designs I will post it.

Feeling much better now, I'm off to complete the wings.
