I'm using "royal purple" GAST for Paradigm Lost. I'd used GAST for that Quaker Sampler I did, my first foray into overdyed threads, and now I'm hooked!
I haven't tried WDW yet, but have enjoyed looking thru the colors at the LNS.

For my Rosemarkie I was going to use a Gloriana silk BUT decided to stick with a solid...So I used an NPI 456 stitched one thread over two on Belfast
32ct Lavender Bliss linen. AND it was such fun to stitch. I'm not sure if it is still there BUT Julia put a photo of my finished (unframed) piece on her Long Dog website. (just a little bragging here....LOL... I can do that well too).Marc
OOPs sorry... 3 skeins of NPI 456 and had some left over....

Have you tried Vikki Claytons Hand dyed fibers site

Tegan: How are you liking Bagatelle? I've got it and some Lakeside Linen Chalkboard Green fabric to do it on. I'm going to use the white DMC as called for but no idea what to use for the netting yet. I'm itching to start. How far into it are you? Does it go quickly? Give me some inspiration to start! (though I know I shouldn't as there are Christmas ornaments to stitch!) Jeanine in Canada
Well, to be honest, I got sidetracked with St. Germain for a time, and then made an awful discovery! Do NOT leave an uncovered project leaning on the couch behind you when you also happen to be a heavy smoker. And most especially when the only color used is white! I've washed it, but have been sidetracked by a return to work and currently being in a bit of a stitching slump. Bags is huge, so for me, there's not going to be a fast finish there! You can see what bit I've done on my Webshots account
Go for it! It's really an easy stitch, just large, and the results are wonderful! Tegan
Yeah, but for you reading and sleeping is stress relief and with me it's stitching! LOL
I am using Mulberry linen and DMC 778 as the netting color, as it's pale and in same color family as the fabric, but darker than the white I'm using for the main body.
BTW, the netting looks more tedious than it is. It's good to save for when you don't want to have to constantly refer to the chart and can just sorta let your mind wander while your hands keep busy.
I am working bottom up, and other than the last two digits of the date and some of the netting, I'm done with the lions band now!

IIRC the pattern called for a WDW or GAST called Picket Fence - sorry don't have it handy. I remember thinking when I saw it that I'd have to find something else as it's a sort of bluey white. Since my ground is dark green I looked for something like that but didn't find it. I'm not familiar with WDW or GAST or even Needle Necessities for that matter. I get in front of a display and start drooling and can't decide on any of them so I don't buy (honestly it's the strictest I've ever been with myself). It's calling meeeeeeee.....
Thanks for letting me look at your progress - wow a whole skein already? Are you using the brilliant white or just regular?

I'm using the bright white, but much to my horror, I had left it sitting uncovered on the couch behind me, not really thinking about any sort of damage... "it's up where Chen (cat) can't sleep on it, it's out of any food reach".. I was humming right along on St. Germain when Caryn showed me her first finished lion and thought "Oh.. I'd better get in gear.. I started before she did and she's already got one of those critters almost done!".. well.. I'm surprised you didn't hear the screams when I reached around behind me, pulled it down and started to put in the next row on the unicorn I'm still working on... How stupid could I be? I frame EVERYTHING because I smoke.. what did I THINK was happening behind me? I have washed it by hand, and I think the damage is minimal, but I really think I'm going to sneak down to Mom's (her machine has a delicate setting that works better than mine) and try washing it in the machine. Plus, I don't like using my town's water for anything important.
But yes, it surprised me when I realized that the pitiful amount I had done was already almost one whole skein. Scary, isn't it? Tegan
That was yours? It's beautiful! Looked at your web page -- lots of gorgeous pieces. Lovely work.
