May I recommend a trip to your local bead shop?
Cheryl
Yes, you may. I found one that carries more than just jewelry beads and I may turn into one of their best customers.
I'll call.
I once thought I couldn't do a lot of things in embroidery. I would try and fail. But through time, I gained some mastery that I didn't realize I was getting. A mentor once said to me: Everything you do with a needle and thread improves what else you do with a needle and thread.
So - when the mood struck (and that is the important key . . . self motivation) I'd try again and what to my surprise, I took baby steps forward on things I *never* thought I'd get.
Keep that in mind the next time the mood strikes. In the meantime, enjoy your beading.

Good move. I have a favorite local bead shop - actually several of them

We get it as a subscription for our Guild. As librarian it comes to my address, so I get to see it first.:) We've never had a problem with it getting lost.
It's a bit pricey, but definitely has lots of great projects and ideas.

I finally got a response from a customer service representative at Stitches. She said that the magazine would come quicker if ordered directly from them as it wouldn't have to go through an additional distribution channel (or words to that effect).
Despite being frugal, cost wasn't the real hold up with this decision. If I did one project from each issue or every few issues, it'd almost be the same as buying charts or patterns.
I'm seriously thinking of doing the 3D Romeo and Juliet courtyard project. The issue I bought, #56, has part 2. The instructions are wonderful but (there's always a 'but') they don't tell how to do the tiles on the roof.
Marg, if you still have access to #55, can you see if that was covered in part
1?
I don't know if the roof tiles are there, but I think it was going to be more than two parts to the project.
Cheryl
Yup, it's a 3 part project; each can be done individually if one doesn't want to do all the parts and attach them to make a free standing courtyard. My subscription is supposed to start with the issue with part 3 so I'll have 2 out of the three unless I buy or find the issue with the first part.
