Movie Stars Eyes Patterns

There used to be a designer who created charts of movie stars' eyes. Does anyone remember who it was? Are they still in business?

TIA. Connie

Mirjam,

The charts were incredible, and it was easy to tell who the person was. A friend of mine did Lucille Ball's eyes, it was gorgeous!

Back in the 1930's in the UK, the height of the sports season were the Test cricket matches versus Australia. The captain of the Australian team was Donald Bradman. Someone took a picture of his eyes and pasted it onto an envelope, put a postage stamp on it, and threw it into a mail box. The UK Post Office delivered the letter!!. By the way, eyes seem to be a good source of pictures for computer generated patterns. The patterns produced seem to be nice to stitch.

Wasn't there a similar story about an England cricketer (whose name I've now forgotten) chosen to go on an Ashes tour? He performed very poorly, and an infuriated Yorkshireman sent an envelope with the player's photo on it. Royal Mail delivered it, of course, and when he opened it to find a single sentence, "If you receive this letter, the postman thinks more of you than I do."

Not that it is really relevant to patterns of eyes, but I thought it made a follow-up cricket story!

Shanti.

I remember these patterns, but don't remember who did them. But googling I found that there is a UK band named the Cross Stitched Eyes. Hmmm.

Second try.

It was Terrence of Dimples Designs. Look on the Hoffman site. Legends of the Silver Screen.

Amen to that. About ten years ago, I addressed something to the Governor "State Capitol, Sacramento CA 95814" and it came back as No Such Address. So my next attempt was "State Capitol, 10th & Capitol Mall", and that also came back as No Such Address.

My next attempt was to walk the returned letter down to the postal window hidden inside the Capitol, and inquire if they thought they could find the Captiol building.

They made some wisecrack about the mail processing center being located in West Sac, and you know the intelligence of the people who live there.
