needlepoint experiment

You experienced needlers prob. already know this, but I had to prove it to myself. With the same lengths of scrap wool, I did a small sampler of basketweave, continental and "cheap" stitch.

Results: got 44 sts in the basketweave, 43 in continental and 63 in 'cheap'.

Keeping this info in my workbag....might come in handy someday.

And cheap stitch is half cross? or something else?

But which *looks* best?

yes

OH, the basketweave, fer shure - no daylight showing thru. But I was trying to see how much more I could eke out of a shade I may be running out of and will never locate again. I'm trying to complete a project using stash scraps. Silly me.....
