NN S.E.X. & friendship

Hi all,

In keeping with the "let's talk needlework", I just thought I'd tell you about the great day I had yesterday.

I met Arliss (former poster, still lurks sometimes) in Fargo at Nordic Needle for our nearly-annual get-together. We spent the morning wandering through the store just looking and, wouldn't you know it, a few items jumped into our baskets! :) By that time it was 11:45 so we set our baskets aside (with the salesgirl's blessing, of course) and tromped off to Olive Garden for a yummy lunch! We had a very nice visit and then went back to NN to do our actual buying.

I had purchased The Sweetheart Tree's Teenie Tweenie Cherry Blossoms Fob at CATS in Las Vegas (

so I picked up the silk floss for that:

way down towards the bottom under the "Retired" list and lookfor Julian). I have kitted that up as a break from my nativity set (assoon as I finish the donkey, probably this weekend).Along with floss and beads for a variety of patterns already in mycabinet, this was a planned purchase: Spring Garden Sampler

I also picked up the accessory pack for it.I haven't decided if I'm going to do it on the blue fabric. I mightdo it on a pale pink I picked up. The floss colors look equally goodon both fabrics.

Speaking of pink, this is something that just *happened* to jump into my basket:

is lighter than the suggested fabric. I'm using this floss:

Lavendermist, although the skeins I bought have no lavender in them. Theylook more like the picture of Strawberry Ice IRL.And I couldn't resist this Bumblebee tape measure! It's just too cutefor words!

Cheryl, they have a ladybug one, too! And a sheep, for the sheep-lovers out there.

Arliss was looking at stands, but decided to hold off for a bit. She didn't leave empty-handed, though...she made a dent in her pocketbook, too! :) She picked up some floss, a hardanger book with some interesting patterns, and some canvas for a stitch book.

We had a great time, as usual, and enjoyed ourselves immensely! I think we finally left the shop around 3:30.

And, for the horse people: I then met DD, who actually stopped at NN on her way home (only lives

4 blocks from there!), and we went to the barn where she's boarding her horse, so I got to have a horsey day, too! :):):) Her filly is looking really good. I think she still has some growing to do, since her back end is quite a bit higher than her front end. She's just barely 2. DD is doing a great job with her!

So, friends, needlework, away-from-home children and horses....what could be a more perfect day??? :)

Joan

Joan, my friend, I worried about you because there were no jokes LOL

I am so glad you had such a memorable day! At the time they don't seem extraordinary, but as time passes, one says "Remember when we...".

You deserved a fun day, and I just wish i could have been with you!

Hugs, with envy,

Gill

Ppppbbblllfffttt!!! Joan, are you going mad? You left out the mice!

Oh this was like reading a storybook with all the pictures - it means so much when everyone puts the urls to go see what we're all playing with. Sounds like a really fun time.
