NP canvas question

Jun 13, 2006 2 Replies

I bought a great HP np off ebay but when it arrived it was folded in quarters! UGHHHHHHHHHHH. Any ideas how to flatten it out? Would pressing it with a steam iron and a pressing cloth help? Would putting it on stretcher frame help? I planned on stitching it in a frame anyhow but if I put it on and left it for awhile before starting it?

Thanks

Cindy

Steaming and blocking it should do the trick. The steam should soften the sizing without removing it, and then it should solidify again as it dries. So I would steam it, mount it flat out, and let it dry into position. Dora

I agree Dora, I'd probably steam it and get it into the frame so one can hold the flatness in.
