Good, that's the way to do it, something like the MIL at the wedding, wear beige and shut up !

Yeah--I tried that line on my DS's stepmother. (She wore zebra print, and you can guess the rest)

Oh dear - that very nearly beats the wedding we went to where the mother of the bride had a dress cut down to the navel in front and the just above the butt crack in back and a thigh high slit... The poor girl had no idea what dear Mom had picked to wear.

It was also the only wedding we ever went to where a fight broke out...

Oh, you have reminded me of one of my aunts who wore a similar dress to her daughter's wedding. The plunging front was held (somewhat--she was a generously endowed woman) together by a very large brooch, and apparently there were wagers being made at the wedding supper as to during which course it would go flying across the hall!!

I certainly hope the fight involved clocking the Mum one !

Oh dear - that seems tame however compared to this wedding. Very little left to the imagination in that dress.

Well sort of - the bride's father and the bride mother's current "beau".

Or the one I went to where the three sicked wister-in-laws to be who were bridemaids wore Halloween orange mini dresses cut down to there and the soon to be mother-in-law wore a white, victorian lace dress, a big brimmed hat and french heel button shoes, with a see through slip underneath and no bra, which she needed badly.

Not a pretty picture.

We all sat there with wide eyes, staring at each other and trying not to gasp out loud or giggle. I guess it's important to note that at a Jewish wedding the mother of the groom accompanies him down the aisle before the bride appears. Even the Rabbi looked startled.

Startled sounds like an understatement

You guys! I did a big wedding, and the mother of the bride evidently doesn't like wearing bras. They live a bit rurally in small town Conn, and she mostly wears a lot of casual housedresses - with no bra. Older woman in her 70s. The bride was extremely concerned about how we were going to keep her mom dressed up! The groom's mother, a true diva, made a lot of things difficult. So, with the MoB, I convinced her that "the girls needed to stay up" - she looked lovely in her gown. As I was getting them ready to walk down the aisle (the Mothers were escorted in at the beginning just prior to the bridal procession) - she looked at me and said "this bra is killing me - I'm taking it off right after the ceremony - OK?" . Ummmm, no, Mom, I'll let you know when you can. Her son almost exploded - he was the escort. She did look gorgeous, in deep goldish biege. I love this family, but the big thing the entire week of events was keeping Mom "dressed" .
