Well, don't wait too long! I'm just very grateful that I only have to wear the readers when I'm actually reading smallish print. Or stitching - not for knitting, or most NP.

Thanks - fortunately at least on my side of the family we haven't any real history of bi-polar or depression or schizoprhenia, etc. We're sure that the crazy SIL is actually bi-polar with schizophrenic tendencies. But, I've never been a person that sleeps much - even as a kid. When the others had to get 10 hours, I was the 7 hour kid. As I got older - mostly about 6 hours, and occasionally I'd sleep in for about 10-11 hours some weekend. As an adult, it gradually lessened to the norm of 5-6 hours. I'm great on 6, fine on 5 - and then every couple of months - 1 long sleep of about 9-10 hours. Then in my later 30s - more like 4-5 hours. Great on 5. If I do too many 4 hour nights, eventually I'll have to do an 8 hour day, or I may get a little edgy. But, it takes a steady week plus of no more than 4 hours to bug me. However, if I've been very erratic - like now - getting incomplete - or a couple of hours on and off - the way I know that I'm actually sleep deprived, really tired - I get very cold. And a little short. But, mostly I'll just stay cold. With the anemia I'm always cold in the hands - but when I can't shake it I'll just tell DH that I KNOW I need to sleep, and will go to bed early and actually get a "normal" person's 8 hours. I wasn't kidding that we do joke about my lessening norm of sleep. But, if I go back to work full time, plus fitting in the gym, and my shifts at the rescue squad - I expect that my sleep will go back to at least a steady 5-6 hours - which would be better.

Honestly - the way we found my anemia - I was suddenly tired - as in truly having to go to bed no later than 9, and would feel like I needed a nap. Turned out I really was - my hemoglobin was soooo low that I really wasn't getting enough oxygen to exert myself. The things you learn.

So, on the happy sleep note - I think I'll go do that....
