A bit off topic

I'm a bad house wife, I try, but I fail every time......... I clean and cook and sometimes, just for a moment in time, things seem to come together and then.....I get an idea for a garmont, a quilt or something else and I start......

Every where you look, fabric, threads, patternpaper and so on......cats who throw anything on the floor, dogs that try to eat that...doorbell is ringing, dogs want to go pee and cats that make a mess around the litterbox..

Husband comes home and leaving a trail of shoes, bag, mp3player, telephone rings as you try to make sence of pattern and the firts ideas you had...........'no I don't want to buy into a pensionsceme, I want to know what I'm doing now, not in 10 years time'..

Daughter and friends tumble into the room and are begging for cola and food, dogs barking, cats miauwing (they think food is a briljant idea) another nitwit that tries to call me on the phone and chaos is complete........

I'm a bad bad housewife.........

That all sounds pretty normal to me. Housework is boring: leave it for a day when you are bored. ;)

At this point in my life, I just smile and think, I remember those days....I'm still a bad housewife, but my quilting is definitely improving ;-)

i just figure when i am gone if i leave lots of quilts, pillows, needlework, etc.. that they will remember and tell stories about those and no one will really care that my house wasn't spotless, it'll have been warm and comforting..

Oh you have just described my house to a tee!!! With three teenagers and a full volunteer schedule and a husband who has dropsies and a cat, bird and fish and....... well yeah. My house to a tee. I am also a bad bad housewife. Add to that melee is clutter. I have clutter issues, I am a sentimental keeper. Hard habit to stop and impossible to declutter with the chaos constantly around me.

I think we need a group of BBH (bad bad housewives) where we can go guilt free into a corner and talk about it while quilting! I am really good at talking about it!!! LOL ~KK in BC~

That is one of the funniest things I have ever read! It actually reminds me of my departed grandmother's house in Detroit. When we visited there was a path you could walk to the only couch and you moved stuff from the couch so you could sit.

Oh. My. God. That woman needs help before the crap collapses on her and she suffocates before anyone can find and extricate her. I am a bit of a pack rat, but damn...

I think it sounds lovely!!! My house is very quiet.

I've made the best investment in my life: Every 2 weeks I have a woman come & clean my house for me! It's my one small luxury & it makes me very happy.... (Even if MIL is not amused! ;o)

Other than this luxury, we are both on a financial & caloric diet! :o)

I had a woman too but they are hard to find here, most women work and don't want to do cleaning for others anymore.....a quiet house......it seems like a hundred years ago that my house was quiet:)

It's difficult to find here as well. But once ppl have found one they treat them like gold so they wont' go work elsewhere! ;o)

She has to be ill. She's buying stuff on ebay and not even opening the boxes... How sad. Poor lady.

Yeah... There's always something interesting to do: read that new book, sort through the quilt books, brows the Quilter's Cache, haul out the stash and have a fabric bath, snuggle up with the cat...
