OFF TOPIC!!!!!! Medical Question

Do any of you know anything about "anti-IgE monoclonal antibody" ? On 'layman's term' ? So far, I'm lost with what I can find on line. It MIGHT be an option for me....wont know until May...as I have to be 'off' a coupe of other meds for a bit before we can discuss this. In the meantime, I get to try an old , been around forever, allergy med for the next 5 days. Wish me luck with it.

Thanks once again, what would I do without you?

This is for people who have significant asthma NOT controlled by other medication. It is EXTREMELY expensive, but in some cases it is worth it. A friend's daughter was put on it after an ambulance ride to the ER and several days in the ICU. She is doing much better now.

My Dad has been getting Xolair shots regularly for the last year or so...once a month now, I think, but he gets two shots each time. His insurance covers all but $20 of each injection. He's had asthma almost his entire life and been on and off numerous medications over the years. Most of the medications he's taken, he's built up a tolerance to over time, so this seemed to be a good thing to try. So far he thinks the shots are working great. He still has issues every day and his inhaler is never far from him, but he hasn't had any bad episodes in months.
