update on Christina - on and off topic

Here is an update I just got from Christina. She said I could share it with you, and she is considering coming back to the group. I encouraged her to do so. Here's how she's doing - Karen, Queen of Squishies

We now have insurance and I fanilly got to see the dr today.. Looks like I am going to be heading up to OKC to OU medical center. Did rule out a Yeast Infection,( she said that a lot of people with big breast have yeast infections, but this was not it, at all) or any Infection, since I have been on the antibodies for so long, ( yes I even told her about us having no insurance, and How I saved my last refill until I needed them, took for a few days, until it flared up once again, and how I took two rounds as I should have.. for 10 days without missing any) Ruled out an allergy also. Gave me a little fuss about waiting so long, but understood because of no insurance. They are not sure what it is, They also don't think it can be IBC since it is now on both breast now. It does look like they are going to be moving fast with this... going to try to get the mammogram done at OU medical Center, said this Dr William C. Dooley is Not only the best in the state, but could be the best in the USA. But when they called while I was still in Office, He was at the clinic and could not get in touch with him today, So they are going to let me know sometime tomorrow, on the apt and if they can set up a Mammogram up with his office. If they can't get the Mammogram done with his office ( Dr Dooley) they will try someplace maybe in Texas) Before they can set up anythign I have to find out if it is covered under insurance ( I have already looked up this Dr. Dooley and I know he is on our plan..

I have been sick for the last 3 weeks, still have a little cough with yucky stuff.. but I did manage to make two hug quilts (lap size) for a garden club I am in.. for someone who has colon cancer, and for his wife. Since I am the only one who quilts, I made then myself, and had to write everyones name on the quilts... we did not have enough time to send out a block for someone to write on themselfs. So I am still paying it forward, even though I am not still in the group... but I have been thinking I might have jumped the gun just a little bit, when I said I would never come back... I Miss the Group!!!!!!!! and miss reading about Quilting.

It's a relief to hear she has insurance and is getting help now. I've been concerned about that......

Please pass on my well wishes to her unless she's lurking and can read them herself ;)

Thanks Karen,

Tricia

I'm glad to see she is finally having things looked at. Please let her know that she is still in my prayers as she and her doctors try to find an answer.

Thanks ever so much for passing this on, Karen. And, if you are reading, Christina, thanks for saying Karen could let us know. Many of us have been so concerned about you.

How lovely that she is doing quilts for others - come what may, a true quilter at heart. . In message , "Karen, Queen of Squishies" writes

Please add my thanks for passing this along.

I'm also one of the many here who has been wondering about Christina, and I'm glad to hear she's getting the medical care she needs. It's good to know she is thinking about coming back to the group, she has been very much missed.

Karen thanks for the update on Christina. Send her my best. I know just how important the kind thoughts and words are from the group here when things are tough. My prayers and thoughts will be with her. julia

Christina said she would love to hear from any of you who wish to email her. And also, she is still thinking about coming back to the group. She wants to, but is a little tentative yet. Thanks for all the encouragement you've given her in these messages.
