Old WIPs in books

Nice to know having ancient WIPs isn't just a modern thing.

From "The Daughters of Danaus"

Hadria had brought out a piece of embroidery (about ten > years old), and was working peacefully.

I had to go looking - what did you think of the book?

I'm proofing it so I've missed a lot of pages. Not the most entertaining piece of fiction since the characters mostly just stand around and spout philosophy.

I have one that dates to 1974. Tablecloth doesn't fit any table currently in the house, so it's probably a permanent UFO.

But it's a lily of the valley tablecloth, so it's not leaving my clutches, because you never know when you'll move and acquire a new table that it does fit.

Just how big is it? I've used table clothes that I really liked that are just too small for the dining room table as book case covers, over small tables......
