I found daffodils in bloom in the side yard today.

I really needed to spot those after DS wiped out on his bike. There is now a large bit of road rash on one elbow, a smaller bit on his other and the knees. He did really good until the adrenalin wore off and the pain hit. The boy has a really low threshold of pain. He sits in the chair with ice packs on both elbows, quietly moaning ever so often.

So sorry to hear this cheryl. My one son is like this . The other was riding his one speed bike back to the dorm from work and was HIT by a company truck--- turns out the guy was on drugs! Anyway, he ended up in the hospital with a full body cast and when i talked with him on the phone, he actually said "oh, this isn't tooooo bad."

I can't laugh out loud - DS is still awake. My DD is like the other DS of yours. Rode her bike into the culvert, I'm running as fast as my feet will let me. I get there, she standing up complaining about the smell.

Well he`s going to be a MAN, isn`t he? If they get a cold they think they`re dying! Glad it was no worse, anyway.

Our daffodils will soon be over - I expect the SNOW we`re expecting today will give them their final push!

Several years ago, while I was still in college, some friends of ours were living in town as well. Their daughter was about 7 or 8. I taught her piano lessons and practised piano there. She had recently had surgery to remove a lump from her shin, so she was in a leg cast. One afternoon I was there for her lesson. Everything was normal. The next morning I went there to practise piano. When I came into the house, her mom told me not to be shocked when I when into the living room. She was a fastidious housekeeper, so I was expecting there to something slightly messy in the living room. What I found was Jody on the couch with her face banged up (front teeth cemented in so she wouldn't lose them, etc.). Apparently after her piano lesson the previous evening, she had gone on a bike ride (remember, her leg is in a cast) and ran into the administration building of the college. Her bike was taken away from her at that point until everything healed, or next spring whichever happened last. She was another that felt no pain.

Rachel

She sounds like a girl I went to college with!
