OT: anyone use AVAST antiviurs software?

Hi everyone,

I know this is off-topic, but you guys know everything about everything, right???

Anyway...I purchased Norton Antivirus last week and tried to run it on my computer. I spent 3 1/2 days trying to get it to work, and it won't, so it's going back to Symantec. Now I've downloaded AVAST, it works fine when I'm logged on as Owner/Administrator, but won't work when I'm logged on as me (Administator privileges too). It asks for the license number and when I put it in, it says it's invalid.

Any hints or tips???

thanks...Linda

The only hint I can give you is to change to AVG. I used it on my old computer, but when it was stolen my replacement computer cam with Norton, which I ATTEMPTED to use!! I finally took Norton off, and found AVG again, and have been happy with it ever since.

When I had Norton antivirus on my last PC it worked for a while and then decided to take over the world..it blew up my PC.

My employer, world-wide computer company, uses ETrust AntiVirus - I bought a personal copy and use that instead....no problems! Suggest also running SpyBot and AdAware as well (both available as free downloads) to keep your 'puter happy.
