love the way you can trace transportation routes such as Hwy 11 in Ontario or the Tran-Siberian Railway route by following the string of lights. You can often tell how densely an area is populated by the lights - just look at the Nile Valley. I use one of the pictures from the site (the blue marble Earth from space) as my desktop picture.
