To all Canadians, remember tomorrow is voting day. Remember our motto; vote early and vote often!! Jim.

Sadly, Jim,

That is what is being discovered here in the electoral rolls. There are people registered many times over by a group ( or maybe more than one group, but thinkin of ACORN), and that will slant the election for the people who "sign them up".I suspect, but don't know, that a reward may be involved.

One vote, one person seems to be going by the wayside in the USA. Sad, isn't it??

Snicker - exactly what my DH said today. We are going to head out and get to the polls as soon as they open tomorrow morning. The tomorrow evening, I'm going to make a batch of popcorn, get a notepad out, and watch the results once the polls close.

I dunno, Gillian, when I was a poll worker in Florida we had to have a positive I.D. on everyone who wanted to vote. We were prety strict about it, too, in Hillsborough County.

Indeed. We are really lucky where I am, we have a long-serving MP who works hard for his riding and has never had his integrity questioned, even when scandals were flying around him. He does not represent the party I support, but like many others here, I am forgetting about strategic voting and whatever, and voting for a good person.

There are some states where ID isn't necessary. I think I remember reading recently of a brouhaha in one state, which wanted to introduce picture IDs to avoid voting fraud, and those against said it was unfair to make people who didn't have them go out and get them.

I am looking in from the UK and you couldn't tell here there was a General Election in Canada today!!! I did a vote in an advanced poll hoping to keep St Harper in a minority position.

I also did something totally illegal. For the first time our Civic Elections which are on the 18th could have an E vote. I did my E vote and just before I left a friend called me and asked me to do her evote for her, she doesn't have a computer. So she gave me her DOB and Pin and the votes were accepted. After doing it all it explained it was against the law to do that, so I called her back and told her it was now too late but it was okay for me as I was flying out that night, see her in jail when I returned lol

I was in Prince Charles shop in Tetbury this a.m. very nice articles actually, all very tasteful, it raised money for his youth charities.

Anyway, here I am gone again lol

Whatever you do, _DON'T_ buy HRH Wing Nut's "vegetable crisps". They are dreadful, frazzled & fried bits of unidentifiable vegetables that are just about impossible to chew.

I love his "Duchy Originals" biscuits (cookies to us). I've had the orange, the ginger and the lemon ones. Basically they are shortbread recipes with the additional flavours. Very nummy.

I think I can say without fear of being proved wrong that Stephen Harper does not sing. After Brian Mulroney, this is a small mercy.

Saved ! I didn't buy anything edible, though the chocolates looked very nice. There were lovely things for gardeners but I was buying silly things just for the amusement of the warrant lol

I heard those were very nice, though that must be for another shop since it mentions Duchy of Cornwall, the one in Tetbury is called Highgrove and is associated with his country estate. Years ago when he first bought it they all laughed because he would only allow the estate to be run organically and now of course he has proved to be ahead of his time. I went to school almost next door to there, although he didn't own it then, and my friend still lives in the area over at Uley so I always come down here. Still one of the more attractive areas of the UK.

Thank you Dawne for that thought (I think). Good thing I didn't have a mouthful of coffee.
