It wasn't the weather that made us move up here but the quality of life. Some folk say Orkney is in a time warp; long may it remain so! The weather here is much the same as it was in Scarborough (NE coast), perhaps rather more extreme at times because we are more exposed. What is different is the attitude of people of all ages and the sense of timelessness - throw away your watch and purchase a calendar! (And I would hate to subject any innocent person to the sight of my legs in a pair of shorts - Maureen says they look like matchsticks with the wood scraped off!)
