Nah - I don't watch the twirlers much. But the moves some of those "more mature" hockey players make are pretty good.

Very nice!!! It kind of made me wonder why I never learned to ice skate properly. Maybe now would be a good time to learn, provided of course that I could skate with this group.

I had visions of something from Trace Adkins when I saw the hats!

Can't you just imagine Swing Batter or Honky Tonka .....

Of course, with the hockey guys, there is often that "loaded diaper" effect due to the padded hockey pants. But, OTOH, I will say, I've seen some really fine glutes and quads in the locker rooms. Very fine. And smooth moves on the ice as well.

For those of you that didn't read the comments on the u-tube piece, those are a bunch of pros doing the skit. The other night at the CAPS game, Jamie Salei and Pelletier were in the owners box, along with Michael Weiss, and some other skaters. Jamie is the girl talking to the camera. I don't really think those guys are ever cowboys, so to speak.

Well, it might not be that group exactly - but you'd get to meet some nice people, I'm sure.

You could sign up for a lesson, or set of adult group lessons - I bet it would be fun. We see some really older folks skating all the time around here.

Heck, I fell for DH the first time we went just skating - that was after playing hockey together. He's really graceful on the ice, and there's something about that whole big guy in motion so sleekly. That, and he has great legs, which cause me much envy. For me, skating - I like the sort of free feeling I get - no pounding on the knees as with running. I'll never, ever be a figure skater, though.

Right Ellice. I'll sign up for lessons at the Port St. Lucie ice rink. I'm not sure they even know what ice skates look like here, unless they're transplanted northerners. The temperature at 9:19 pm is 61 f with a humidity of 72% and ice comes in cubes and not on ponds. The only ice skating I've ever seen is on TV or in advertisements for ice shows in Miami.

In one of the "Over 40" leagues that tend to play in the late afternoon, there are several gents that wear really snug pants and look just fine.

DS tells of the day some wise guy told him - "get your fat a** off the puck goalie boy" and then the ref blew the whistle. DS just stood up and wise guy only came to half way up his chest. Kid skated back so fast, he fell over. Not another lick of trouble from that team. But, then DS comes home, pulls the goalie pants on over his jeans and asks "do these make my a** look fat?" What do you day to that!!!

I sure didn't think they were amateurs but I don't care if they've never seen a horse in person. That was fine to watch. I love the routines the figure skaters do just for fun.

I wasn't being stupid - though I'm sure you think so. There are actually a bunch of rinks in Florida - you'd be surprised. This link has locations of rinks in Florida - for your curiousity.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be mean and I certainly don't think you're stupid. Optimum time for me to drive to Lake Worth would be 1-1/4 hours and that's provided there isn't any traffic at all. Coming from South Florida I'm sure you know how likely it is that there would be no traffic.

I happen to live in an adult community but it's surrounded by other places full of kids. This isn't like Palm Beach County where you can spend weeks and never see anyone under 70. We do have kids and schools from pre-school through college, all within 5 miles of where I live. We have bowling alleys and roller skating, but no ice rinks.

I think I'll stick to my ice in drinks, but thanks for the information.
