OT: Gillian's Progress

I just checked in on Gillian and they are near Layton, north of Salt Lake City. Sure making quite the trip.

I hope she has a chance to stop in at Shepherd's Bush - they are in Ogden, Utah - just north of SLC. It has lots of goodies, including exclusive kits not available at other retailers.

I had a wonderful time when I visited in 2001 and bought more than I should have -despite having to find space to pack it on the motorcycle.

Did you add it to her list when she called for suggestions ? If so, I know she has it with her. I will mention it to her in case anyway.

You'd be surprised at where you can find a corner for a few skeins of silks, some GA overdyes, a couple of packages of R&R linen, two (no, three!) exclusive shop kits, one of the collaboration patterns (the ones done by three dfferent designers), and a few other odds and ends. SB carries not only their own patterns, but a wonderful assortment of other designers, plus fabrics, embellishments, etc, etc, etc. I spent about an hour (while the DH went and washed the bikes).

That's the beauty of having my own motorcycle - the DH can't complain about what I carry!

Marg who can truthfully say she has gone 1800+ miles for S.E.X.

Ah - you weren't on one of those tiny things that are currently buzzing NH for Laconia's Bike Week.

I wonder if next time DH goes to Salt Lake City if he'd make a stop at Shepard's Bush for me! LOL

If she is coming this way, I have a newly updated list of which LNS in my region have reopened, and what their hours currently are.

Plus, most places will ship things home for you -- a word to the wise....

I've only been to Laconia once - back in the early '70s. I prefer quieter venues. We do go to Daytona occasionally - but stay out of town, away from the constant racket.

I have a 1974 R90/6 BMW (900 cc)with almost 400,000 kms on it. It helps that the DH is a BMW motorcycle mechanic. I have a large tankbag on the gas tank (for the stuff like gloves, glasses, camera, that need to be readily accessible) and two 22 litre hard-sided saddlebags. The DH has basically the same set-up, plus he carries the tent, sleeping bags and thermarests on the back of his seat.

I love the looks we get when we stop somewhere for the night, and after we get set up, I pull out the needlework......

If you ever come back this way, let me know!

Anything like the ones I get pulling it out while waiting at the mechanics.
