We (in Halifax) are hosts to a royal Buddhist wedding this week. Quite something. Halifax is one of the largest Shambala centres, even has a Shambala run School and there is a Shambala monastery up in Cape Breton. I was just watching one of the ceremonies that took place in dreadful weather up in the Citadel.
Some of the robes were magnificent, lots of goldwork on saffron and red.
The ceremony was so pretty despite the rotten weather. The bride and groom didn't seem to mind the weather at all - I hope we see more this weekend.

The costumes are beautiful, but they seem to have gotten lost somewhere along the way. I'm really sorry to have to say this but this seems more like a fund raising event than a celebration of marriage.

I had just watched the filming of the event yesterday and did not know this background - I found that when I went in search for Cheryl lol I would have to say, we do have a large Buddhist population one way and another but I have never noticed a poor one lol
Putting Buddhists aside, I loathe it when charities confront one with a "suggested donation" - it seems as if it is a psychological ploy to make one feel less is inadequate.
(Can you tell the hammering etc today is getting through to me ????) I started off stitching but the noise is insupportable.
