OT: Iowa State dorms demolished

For those who are connected to Iowa State University, Knapp and Storms halls (the two northern Towers) were demolished this morning. Video is available from KCCI (Des Moines channel 8) at

didn't live in the Towers but did stay there for a couple different summer programs. As far as living quarters go I won't miss them, but it will certainly change the Ames skyline!

I understand the economy of imploding a building that is to be demolished and I used to enjoy seeing the clips of implosions on the news. But not any more. Not since September 11, 2001.
