Anyone near Muscatine Iowa?

Question

I will be in Muscatine, Iowa Wednesday, October 18th. Does anyone live in the area? I would love to meet you. I plan to visit the quilt shop while I am in town and could arrange my time at the shop to coordinate with your available time.

My mother has a good friend who lives in Muscatine. Both women are over 90 and drive in their own communities but are wise enough not to try the long drive alone to each other's home. When I offered to take Mom for a drive to see the fall leaves she suggested we visit her friend. Since I know there is a nice quilt store there I was doubly interested. The two women have been friends since they roomed together in 1940!

Susan, I'm not too far away (maybe 1-1/2 hours at the most), but I have to work that day! It'll be my first day back from vacation, and right now, I can't get another day off. Someday - maybe within a year or so - I hope to be more in control of my own hours so that I can take advantage of some meet-ups like this!

I'll see what I can do Susan.  I usually have a Wednesday quilt meeting in the morning, but could maybe I could cut out early and head over.  Muscatine is about 45-55 minutes from here.  With the weather we are having today, you'll be lucky if there are ANY leaves left by next week.  Let alone any color.  Darn it.  I'll keep in touch.KJ
