Question for the New Year

Let's see how many new grands are expected next year.

If you are expecting a grandchild in the new year, answer the following: What is the expected date? Pink or Blue? Has the name been chosen? Have you started a quilt? Total number of grands (or great-grands) you will then have!

Alice - who is not expecting a grandchild next year (that I know about right now).

Interesting topic Alice

For a change I can say that there are no grands expected in 2008 that I know of yet!

We are at 28 grands now, 5 born in 2007. I think that is enough for now. And no, I have not made quilts for all of them, not even very many of them. A few started, some planned, but no real hope of having them done before the baby has outgrown them.

ditto -- I have 3 sons (28, 25 and 21). The youngest is a special needs kiddo -- but the older ones... any time now! The 25 year old has a serious girlfriend -- but not quite to the I DO stage yet. I hear her mama is also anxious for grandbabies!

As for eHarmonyi, my dmil has signed up for that! long story! LOL

I have 3 and one from my foster daughter is due in April. I plan on picking out a pattern soon and if it is a girl make a doll to go along with it.

No children therefore no grandchildren. However I do have another grand-niece due in March. That will make 2 g-nephews and 2 g-nieces,(plus one niece's boyfriend's son..... makes 5)

We are expecting one this year :-)

Due March 28

Blue-what else- I had three boys myself.

Andrew Richard, after his father. We really wish they would reconsider the "Jr." thing, but are keeping quiet. I just feel that it will lead to confusion with mail, social security and who knows what else in the future.

Andy, our son, is stationed at Ft. Collins in Colorado Springs. He brought Chelsie home to Iowa for a visit in October and I had her choose a pattern and fabric kit when she was here. It is still sitting in my sewing room as of today. I know Andy didn't care for her choice, so I will make a 2nd, more traditional quilt for when 'daddy' takes the kiddo out and about. That one will be a surprise for him.

Chelsie already had a daughter when they married, so this will be our 2nd grand child. Emily came to our house in October too, and we just fell in love :-). Emily will receive a Dora The Explorer quilt when we go visit in April.

You can see pictures from their visit in the "My Family" album at my picturetrails site if you're so inclined.

Ah -- the Jr thing is no big deal.

My hubby is III and our son is the IV.... Hubby goes by Bob and we chose Rob for our son -- so phone calls and such are not confusing (once they get to that teen stage -- all those voices sound so grown up!).

Mail never a problem. Just don't do what my dear s-in-law did... called her son (who was John R. III) ... "baby" jack (his dad was Jack). Now he is 20,

6'4 and graciously still answers to the name "baby jack". Poor guy!

He is the brightest child on the planet, of course. He turned 3 in August and is just the sweetest little guy. He is starting to read, can write his letters up to M and just starred in his first Holiday Recital at his school. I was amazed that he knew all the words to 7 songs. He has a memory like a steel trap so I dare not tell him something and not follow through. He'll call you on it in a heart beat. He loves anything with 4 wheels and has a collection of Thomas trains that is just obscene. I guess I should stop buying them for him, huh?

My grand daughter is right behind him, just turning 2 in October. She is all about the Disney Princess and walks around with a purse on her arm that holds her treasures. She wasn't saying too much when I saw her in July but I just saw her in November and she is speaking in paragraphs now. How fast they all grow. She lives in Florida so I don't get to spoil her too frequently, but I try to get down there as often as I can.

Oh good, I am glad to hear that Kate. Chelsie says she will call him Andrew. Andy will call him Junior. I would like to call him Ricky. The middle name, Richard, is after my brother who has been gone 6 years now. Just my way of keeping his memory alive.

We are expecting our first in Feb. and we are all so excited!! His auntie is the ultra-sound tech so we have had lots of good looks at him. He is to be named after his two grandpas - Joseph Drew, and they want him to be called JD.

Andrew was shortened to Drew for our DGS. We have 4 beautiful grandkids, no more expected this year (at least not yet :)
