OT: Question for someone from Australia.

I am interested in the current status of the drought in Australia. Could someone contact me off rctn as to how things are with respect to water reserves in Brisbane and central Australia, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, etc. TIA.

The above link to the Bureau of Meteorology is the way to go for full information. In Brisbane right at this moment we're having thundery showers (6.30am Monday). Most unusual for us, though when it's all done, the overall amount of rain will probably not add up to much. One of our problems here is that patterns of rainfall seem to have changed, so even though we might get a bit of rain here in the city, the dam catchment areas remain dry. Still, it was lovely to hear the frogs croaking last night. Last I heard, dam levels were a bit below

20%, which is very serious. If we miss out on another wet season, we'll be in big trouble.

Best wishes to all, John
