Nope. Apparently people in north central Sask and Alberta saw it quite well to the extent it light up sky like day, so I'm thinking of asking my brother about it. He's a farmer, usually is outside that time of day and lives in that general area. Myself, I was inside and probably eating a cracker at the time. Dora

If that's so, bet you were eating something more interesting than a cracker lol

Well, you see, I get home just before then, and the period between arriving home and eating supper is fraught with dietary peril. I'm usually starving so will eat anything that is sitting still in the fridge or cupboard and so don't keep much around in the way of snack food. I found a forgotten box of crackers last night, and still had some left over tonight.

I tried the fruit trick today, which consists of bringing an extra piece of fruit to work for mid afternoon, but found my mandarin orange was already rotten. Dora

My heartfelt sympathies - I am on the same course and fell off the wagon today. A friends birthday and we all went to lunch after playing bridge for the morning, to the Chinese place - sigh. However, since I came home the only food to pass my lips for supper was a banana.

Tomorrow is another day.

My oh my,

WHY did I have a picture on my end. Actually bananas are high carb, so they don't exist in our house.

I don't bother with high/low carbs, I believe that what goes in has to be balanced by exercise. The exercise is a problem to me now, I find using my treadmill means pain so I need to eat very, very little to compensate.

That is working and I don't believe a sin like yesterday, once in a while, is that bad. I tried hard to pick the least calorific meal, no wine, in fact I rarely have a glass of wine at all for the time being.

While I was at Michael's, I found myself skipping meals because I didn't have time to eat more than a meal replacement bar and some water. I'm trying to keep or two of those in my bag at work now, gets me through morning.

Beware - those bars are bad for you ! Too many calories - it would be better to have some fruit, carry and apple.

Seriously, have you tried a Pilates machine? I am debilitated by pain and I use mine religiously. It was designed for injured dancers by Joseph Pilates. You don't need the huge ten thousand dollar machine, a simple one from QVC will do. Sometimes they have one on infomercials in the States and next time I see it I may buy it. The ropes on it retract and I like that better than my machine where they just hang on the floor. With QVC if you buy it, there is a 30 no questions asked return policy. Just a suggestion. Victoria

Have you got a link to one of these machines ? I haven't a clue about them.

If I were to buy one today, this is the one I'd buy. It has the retractable straps.

You should see if anyone can help you manage the pain. Eating less will help keep your weight down, but it won't fight osteoporosis and help keep you healthy like exercise will.

Osteoporosis I don't need to worry about fortunately. I once went and offered myself up for a study because I fit everything they were asking for. After a series of questions they did a bone density on me and told me to get out of there, I was never going to have it. My mother always used to say I shouldn't worry about weight because most of it was heavy bones like my father, guess she knew something I didn't lol

Really the thing which helps with osteoporosisi is weight training and it can be done using small one pound weights. They don't have to be heavy. I once asked the doctor if people who haul around extra weight had a slight advantage because it develops stronger bones and he said there was something to that. Overweight is, however, not good either.

Sheena, have you tried your local pool? Aquacise classes, and even simple walking against the resistance of the water, can be really useful, especially if you are having joint problems. Yoga, Pilates and weight training help too.

They are all great suggestions, I must admit I have considered the Yoga, I think that would be the most kind to me.

How are you kid ? Long time no see lol

It worked for Michaels - I was much more active and time was short. I'm switching to some nuts for protein and dried fruit. And lots of water. Trash doesn't get emptied daily (cost savings) and I hate fruit flies.
