We are to have some flurries this a.m., then a dull but clear pm, ready for your snowstorm (which was Dawne's) to move in overnight. Not so much snow coming here, more freezing rain etc. Just the sort of thing that brings the power lines down.

I remember when I went to a conference in Long Beach a few years ago. It was November. Here, all the trees were bare, and my garden was getting ready for winter. There, 'Bird of Paradise' was in bloom. We took a taxi bus from LAX down to LB, dropping off passengers at their homes along the way. They were laughing at me being so excited to see (what to me) was an exotic, florist-only flower, growing in folks yards.
