OT - Teen Magazine

Can anyone recommend a magazine for teens - something that will encourage her to look after herself, discuss normal family problems, how to co-ordinate clothes, how to deal with people who are not so nice, etc. Granddaughter will be 13 this month and I'd really like her to have something to read along this line that will help her in this vital growing up stage.

Brio, through Focus on the Family, is a nice magazine for teen girls. None of that "how to dress to attract a boy" type stuff and is published from a Christian organization.

I've gotten my kids the younger-age magazines and have been quite pleased. The above website is also very age-appropriate for teen girls.

My teen daughters rejected all the teen girl magazines and read about the music they like instead. Oldest said "I like a little depth in my magazines"

I know, not helpful, but I thought it was amusing.

My 11 yo dd likes Discovery Girl - might be a bit young for this age though.

It looks pretty good - maybe just a touch mature - in Nanny's mind - but worth thinking about - thanks Michelle.

This one looks very interesting Carolyn - I'll run this site by my daughter to see what she thinks. Thanks.

I thought it would be good for any girl over 10. I would love to find one for under 10 girls......

My dd still gets American Girl magazine. It is appropriate for 8+. No ads and no push for the American Girl Place or the dolls. I highly recommend it.

's suitable (very) for the 9 to 13-year old crowd, I would think. Been a very long time since I was invested in the American Girl experience, but it is a very, very healthy, all-American organization, even if Mattel does own it, now. Just my two cents. Dianne
