OT: U.S. primaries & interesting times.

Brat's field of excellence ain't American politics. Never has been, never will be.

I'm diametrically opposed to you politically, but I certainly respect your right to say whatever you want.

If you're diametrically opposed to me, then you won't be voting for Hillary, either.

lol that's like Voltaire (I think) who said 'I don't like what you say but I will die for your right to say it' - or something like that.

I'm delighted to say that as usual, you surprise me. I truly thought you would be an Independent (if that exists in MA) or a Republican.

I've only made one decision and that is that I don't much like Obama now. I would love to see him hang in and run a few years down the line, but he's just too green and needs to be battered by the Washington insiders a little more before he runs. I'm afraid that being bright and enthusiastic wont be enough to win the many battles that are surely ahead for whoever wins this time.

Yeppers! It's one of my favorite quotes, which I think was misquoted but attributed to him anyway.

I am a diehard Republican, but am "flexible". IF I was a Democrat, and had to choose one, I told Jim earlier tonight that Richardson would have my vote. It surprised me ( or maybe it didn't really, knowing Brat is a thinking Dem) that she thought the same way.

None of the Republicans thrill me, but I deep down suspect that if a Republican wins, and Congress stays Democrat, McCain is the only one who can at least talk to both sides.

You know, I think our political system sucks!! I am going to buy myself a little island and be Queen of Nothing!!

I like Richardson too, but he's not out there.

When you buy your island, please remember me. But only if there's a good local LNS to hang out in

Obama right now would be about as effective as Carter, I'm afraid.

I find him that way - 'I'll say what I think will make you feel good'

- though I have always admired Carter, particularly where his brother Billy was concerned, dear oh dear !

:( She won her in NH with 40% of the vote; BO had 37%.... There is an article on the WMUR site about her crying....

The Bill was at Londonderry HS yesterday when DH went to vote.

Yesterday - Primary Day in NH - I got 1at least 16 phone calls asking me to vote of X. All of them hours after I cast my ballot. My caller ID log is stuffed with out of area calls and XX for Pres ids; I'm betting over a hundred in the last week. My shredder was filling up in just a few days from shredding the political crap that arrived in my mailbox, door or car window.

Well, DS did get some fun out of it...if we thought it was a live call, not a recording, he'd get on and start questioning them on immigration policy and English as a requirement for a green card. Man, they'd hang up fast.

I too think he could be interesting in about 10 years. He needs to grow up a little and get some seasoning.

Sadly, Carter the man and Carter the president were light years apart. Great man with vision, but as president, he stunk on just about every front.

When he came to Halifax for the then G7 meetings one summer, the ordinary Joe took to him like a duck to water, more so than other leaders, he was very popular.
