Just out of curiousity ? i read somewhere that he used the Koraan, and than read he was a Christian , and as we are discussing him i thought i might ask to satify my curiousity and learn more about him. mirjam

The Tanach Is the Bible ,,, But for christins the tanach is the old testament ,,, The Bible in it`s [Christian] ld testament version isn`t exactly the same as the Tanach in it`s Original ,, mirjam

I understand that. Just pointing out that as far as I'm aware, though there are several Jewish US senators and representatives, she is the only one who appears to have sought out a Tanakh for her oath. The rest apparently used the Christian Bible at hand.

I see. You (or your source) may have been confused with Mr. Ellison, who is Muslim and did use the Koran. That controversy popped up relatively recently, so it might have been easy to confuse the two. Mr. Obama is Christian, so although there has been some discussion (debunked) that he was a Muslim, he is not and therefore didn't use the Koran.

That's beneath you Gillian - I have many friends who do not bake and come to think of it, it is light years since I baked cookies myself. Too bad to see a woman take another woman down over a baking issue, no wonder there are glass ceilings still in existence.

That's only because she is a democrat I suppose ? I think of the medical plan she worked to bring to the US during Billy's first tenure and think she is a pretty smart woman, she only failed because the insurance company wasn't going to let it slip from their fingers as it did here. I bet there are many, many Americans who would be grateful if that system was in place here. Even though I am not particularly a user of our health care, I truly thank god daily we have (along with all the other first nations) a health care system.

Since i Specificly wrote I READ it , and that i wanted to hear from you if it was true, why do you start with the words You ? [or your source]. I Read it in a very detailed email article [from a source that is usually quite reliable] that supposedly his father was a muslim, and his Step father who actually brought him up was A whabi muslim and that in his first time to be sworn for office he used the Koraan. As i wrote to you i didn`t take it at face value, but asked you and those of you who followed him better , if that was the case. ? thank you for clarifying that for me. mirjam
