Picking up framed work

My favourite framer called to say the wedding sampler I made for DS and DDIL is done. I can hardly wait to see it. I took a long time to have it framed, waiting for a time when it could be transported back to Calgary, and DS is coming in two weeks. The sampler is Dragon Dreams' Fairytale Sampler, with the verse modified to make it personal and suitable for a wedding. It is stitched on hand dyed linen, and includes variable threads that were not available in Canada when I started, and which "Anna" kindly sent from England. Now, if I can get in and out of the shop without being tempted to buy linen to start the Jeannette Douglas western sampler, life will be perfect. Dawne

Is it the Prairie West sampler? I have everything ready to go to that one. I would like to start it this summer, but first I have to start an eagle for my dad. If you do succumb to temptation, we could always do a stitch-along.

That's the one. I didn't really care for the fabric as it was pictured on the cover of the leaflet, but I saw it "live" and, assuming it was the fabric called for, liked it much better. I bought a thread kit, so have everything but the fabric. Maybe we should do it---nice Saskatchewan Centennial project, don't you think??? Dawne

A Centennial project sounds good since I hadn't really come up with anything yet to 'celebrate' I'm game if you are.

gulp. This would mean----a committment? To actually finish a project??? Think we can get it done by the end of the year?? Dawne

I'm commitment-a-phobe and goal-a-phobe when it comes to my cross stitch, but we could at least say we started during the centennial year (and hopefully complete before the next centennial).
