Wow, Joan! That's gorgeous. Do you know, it might be heresy, but I think it looks even better in the frame on that pale mount. I love it. Maybe I'll get some of my tinies done like that. It's a wonderful idea. Someone once told me that the success of a quilt in a show/contest does truly depend on the judges of the day; that, if you submit it for another show, it could well win by miles. I've never tested the theory, but it's an interesting thought. I think it's a star quilt - official ribbon or not. . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

I really like your mat color Joan. I had a very difficult time when I framed mine to give to my DH. I used a suede-like navy blue that I'm not sure I would chose again after seeing it all finished. Hindsight.
