I love it, Joan. The ombre purple is gorgeous; and I think those black on black are really 'clever'. Is it made on the same principle as 'white on white'? or is it printed (so as not to have the lumpy additions?)

Whatever the answer to that, it is one beautiful quilt. . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

Joan I love it. The fabric selections are different, but that's beauty of the quilt. Really nice.

I like. The purple and black gives it a regal look.

Wow, Joan, that is handsome! I love the simplicity, or should I say subtlety. DS#2's friend is one lucky person!

I'm amazed at your reactions. It's such a 'different' quilt. I wasn't sure that anyone else would like black and purple together.

Thank you! joan

It is so modern! Looks like a quilt you'd see in Star Trek.

My kind of quilt. I love it. Understatement of colors, makes the strongest statement. Well Done.

Neato. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix?

Well, yes. My son is a musician and the recipient is his booking agent. It did seem appropriate. :>

This looks like a good place to mention - I fell in love with the last quilt Joan showed us. It had sort of bulls eye circles in red/magenta. Finally found it at an online affordable price. If Kaffe's 'Target' calls to you,

has it at a good price. I have no idea what I'll do with it; it was just too dazzling to resist. You know. One of those when somebody says "what are you going to do with that?" you say, "Have it". Polly

Very nice effect with the different shades of purple - where did you get the fabric from? Allison

What a wonderful choice of pattern for the ombre purple fabric! It really makes it a star....

The fabric is 'MCKENNA RYAN'S SILENT INSPIRATIONS STYLE" PN 014 by Hoffman California International FAbrics. Actually got it from a fabric store in California (near Pasadena) when I was visiting DS#2 and wife in February. The store I work in carries some of the line, but not this particularly one.
