Not sure if this helps, but...

If you look at the first picture, at the bottom left full web, you can see that from the left (just after 9 o'clock), the patterns goes into the "round" part of the web. It then circles about 1.5 times, going inwards, and then starts the spoke part of the web, before exiting around 5 o'clock.

Of course, there is some variation between the webs shown in that image.

Yesterday some friends and I were piecing a fern theme quilt. While selecting the (long arm) quilting design, we wanted a motif that may be found in a garden. We even talked about using a spider web, but ended up with a very airy dragon fly design. The main reason was that it would be the least intrusive design over the fern blocks. PAT in HOT Virginia

Hi Pat, How did you like the fabrics for the "fern" quilt? Our "mutual" friend bought them when she came to visit me! I loved them.....even better than the original choices. I also love the dragon fly all-over design quilting. I hope we get to see photos of the finished quilt!
