Yay, my hands are back to work!!!

Thank goodness!!! I fired up my sewing machine for the first time in almost a month. I have five baby quilts waiting to be designed, cut, sewn and quilted. All but one of the babies is already here. I have a good bit of time before the fifth, but it's the most special of all.

So last night I started one for an incredibly wanted child whose parents had a horrible tragedy in the pregnancy before hers. The fetus was found to suffer a horrible, unfixable problem that would literally crush her little body as soon as she left the womb. They opted for an abortion (even the priest told them it was the right, humane thing to do), but the pregnancy was already in the sixth month before this was learned and all the options explored and exhausted. Mom is devoutly religious, and I don't know if she would have survived the tragedy if not for their older daughter, who was 2 1/2 at the time. Now, the older child is 5 and the new little one has filled many holes in many hearts. She deserves something extra special, and I'm working on that as well as a toddler quilt for big sister.

The others will have to get in line.

But for the first time in so long I was able to cut and stitch. It's been a long time. I'm still a bit shaky physically but it's good to be able to work again.

I just used this pattern

for a crib quilt. It can be as scrappy as you want.

I'm sure they will love the two quilts you are making, especially as they are stitched with so much love by you. Please post a photo when you are done so we can all see them....Donna

Glad you are feeling well enough to quilt, Sunny. That IS good news. :-) And such worthwhile projects too.
