Now two more 'obligation' quilts and then I'm ready to activate my long-dormant muse! :>

They're both beautiful, Joan -- no surprise there! :) I love your Hunter's Star. :)

Love them both, Joan. The Hunters Star is so striking - do you pick out the fabrics or does the store tell you what they want for display? On the other hand, I'm coveting the fabrics in Serenity Redux - the colors are soothing, and it just looks like something I'd like to cuddle up in. I hope it brings the school lots of $$$$.

The fabric selection is a collaborative process. In this case, I picked out fabrics which mimiced the picture on the pattern. The store manager made several 'suggestions' and we arrived at the 28 fabrics for the interior of the quilt and the 2 borders. Hey, you can't go wrong with batiks! joan

Both are beautiful Joan! However, I'm especially partial to the "thangles" quilt. In fact, I'm so inspired I'm thinking of making one myself! What is the size of the block?

Thanks!

They are both lovely Joan. How do you do it - again and again; and we're only two weeks into the new year. I am flabbergasted, truly ...

That Serenity quilt is gorgeous - simple, but so restful: just what one needs from a quilt! . In message , joan8904 in Bellevue Nebraska writes

Yummmy... I have a lot of those Japanese fabrics you used in the Serenity quilt. I've been waiting for inspiration for just the right project in which to use them. You just showed me how beautiful they are in a simple setting. I need to get busy using them when I'm able to get to my sewing again. Thanks for the pictures.

Oh my goodness, Joan, thank you so much for showing us wonderful quilts. I think my muse might be stored away in a bin behind the freezer or piano. I surely do miss her. . . and agree with Kathyl that the simple setting was 'ah, just right' for the fabrics in Serenity. Polly
