RCTN - Newsgroup FAQ

" snipped-for-privacy@aol.com" , blest us all with:

Y ya jes gotta love it..! An AOL-ER posting out of Google using a Browser decrees who is new and who is a vetern[sic]. Somehow I do not feel the need to plaster my creds all over the page, in any way :-Þ

Yours holler down the corridor, thats enough for me :-/

..good to see someone has their fschk head on

FWIW..try using pan. Its been a while for me, but,..IIRC... it handles mime which your version of Moz seems to have trouble with?

You miss out on the emoticon/s without chr recognition on board, thereby missing a good deal of the message. That ascii was originally a cheeky tongue poke, for instance. Now that I know Brethren are watching, I will try to stick to the 'old' methods of emotive expression

Thanks for the heads up on that one, the other I think you well realise was no Alzeimers incident

Little bugger f'd up the reply to....sent my reply to some of his/her nastiness to a whole 'nuther newsgroup. So very mature don't you think?

I'd opted out of paying someone just to read newsgroups, when Google provides them for free. However, the desire to killfile might change things if this wacko keeps it up.

I really prefer plain ASCII, which used to be standard for usenet, but I guess you're too young to remember that.

I don't know how much you know about mozilla, but apparently you do not know enough.

It's not ASCII, but that's ok, it's hard to understand the difference between ASCII, ANSI, etc.

I'm quite sure Alzheimers at your age would be a rather sad thing indeed.

Consider staying in lurk mode..

Thank you, Tia Mary! I've said this to myself for ages, thus have never understood the need to get so wound up that I'd allow anything said here to upset me for any length of time(except for a few notable exceptions where my own silly on-the-sleeve feelings were concerned). While I value "knowing" Pat, Sheena, Tia Mary and a host of others, would I lose any sleep over having a "spat" with them? Nope. Might waste a few minutes ranting to the cat, but we'd make up and go on about our days. Or not. Would I miss knowing what they are up to? You bet, but it wouldn't really make a difference in MY world. Have I learned stuff about needlework here? You best believe it (have also had some world class enabling happen too!). Have I learned "stuff" about the world in general? Yes to that, too. But would MY world end, if I never had access to RCTN again? Nope. Might be a bit less bright at times, but would it REALLY affect my daily life? Nope.

Christina (Roisinn) was involved in an almost fatal car crash several years ago, it's the real reason she quit posting. A semi rear-ended the compact car she and her sister were in, almost killing both of them. After the accident she had to relearn many things, including how to type. Last I knew she still hadn't really regained the ability to stitch much. Now and then I get an email from her, and it always makes me smile to know that while her body was badly damaged, her sense of humor and ascerbic wit were not.

There are a few individuals here who like to occasionally claim that they ran her off, but they are just fooling themselves (unless they were driving that truck!)
