Frit is small pieces of glass that can be used as decoration. There are some different kinds of frit as well.
Frit that comes from the same type of glass you are using - either handmade or store purchased Intense frit - Usually a non-compatible (if used in large amounts) of glass that has intense colors. Reduction frit - Small chunks or fine pieces of glass that put into a reduction flame look metallic on the surface.

I don't think it belongs in FAQ, but rather in Bead Notes. FAQ should be about the subject of the newsgroup and posting, not an ombinbus on beading, much less on making beads.
