Removing water spots

Mar 23, 2005 1 Replies

I'm old enough to know better, but.......

What's the best way to remove rusty water spots that my iron left behind? It's a crewel project, stitched on linen twill - completely stitched, ready to turn in for evaluation. Except for a final touch-up with the iron, to remove a few wrinkles - you can imagine the rest. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Thanks Phyllis Maurer

First, (((((hugs)))))

Lemon juice works quite nicely for removing rust stains. ...but do try it first on "scrap" wool to ensure it doesn't harm the dye or fibers. And rinse thoroughly afterwards.

Best of luck.
