I am roughly a month from now! LOL But in honor of Sheena's natal day, I did find a crocus and a snow drop!

No, no pockets. We didn't even have pockets in our skirts or jackets. It was felt it was slovenly to have hands in pockets, so not having any was supposed to wean you from any danger of that bad habit.

We had white aertex briefs that we wore under the grey knickers. We could have been knocked down by a car a million times and all would have been well lol

Knickers in our language were undergarments lol Heaven's to Betsy, if there were a fire drill one would have been expected to hastily don something over our knickers before going public lol If in so doing one burned to death, well it would have been said in hushed tones, how modest one was !

It really lifted my spirits to see those. I'm feeling kinda - low isn't quite the right word, but close enough. Some serious time doing garden clean up will help in a few weeks!

Clocks go forward next weekend too, longer daylight hours always helps I find. Even if we get more snow, at least we know the promise of summer is there lol

I am sure that will help, as will some more time outside. I suspect some of the "down" is the leftover stress from some GS issues and just day to day things that seem to have piled up.

We need those hours of sunlight, or at least daylight, I find to feel human. This is the tale end of winter and adds to the gloomy feeling, hope it passes quickly for you.

OMG! Laugh quickly while I alter that 'tale' to 'tail' before Darla and Pat - the built in spell checkers - spot that!!!

snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com,

I would just have thought that you had been studying your Shakespeare (A Winter`s Tale???) LOL. Hey - I`m not as bad as THAT!!! Only when it`s FUNNY or someone`s getting up my nose in other ways and mispelling at the same time!

snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com,

Our clocks went forward last night and our snowdrops have been out for weeks and are nearly over. Crocuses are blazing out everywhere, as are daffodils - and I have dozens of fornicating frogs in the pond, and plenty of frog spawn. Temps hit nearly 70 F. here last week. Saw a couple of bumblebees yesterday, too - and a lady-bird. (The British kind, not the Harlequin that we`re being warned about!)

I chopped back a very riotous orange-peel clematis last week, too - and discovered that it had swallowed a lovely pink camellia in full bloom! The trees are just hinting at buds about to burst - a couple more sunny days and we`ll have a green mist in the hedgerows, where the blackthorn`s in bloom already, and even some ornamental plum trees. Only about four weeks until we have carpets of bluebells in some of the woods around here. It never loses it`s magic, does it? AND both my daylilies are sprouting like crazy.

The only bad thing is that I need to attack that pesky Russian vine before it takes over the world!

Don't pay heed to her Cheryl, remember what's done is past in her garden, we have it all to look forward to lol

You can`t possibly look forward to a Russian Vine running riot! Groan! Bloody thing. Don`t even ASK who planted it!

What is a Russian Vine, can't say I am familiar with it. Perhaps it doesn't grow in our more discerning climate.

Our clocks have not changed yet, and compared to your weather, ours is way behind. But spring is on its way. We have had perfect weather for maple syrup; minus single digits C by night and plus single digits C by day. The sky has been blue, blue, light winds, and the sun is getting warm. On my daily walk today I heard a cardinal singing for the first time this year. I had a lovely view of him at the top of a tree, naturally completely devoid of leaves. His scarlet breast was wonderful to see against the blue, blue sky. Now, we should soon see and hear the Canada geese returning. We should get some rain to help melt the snow, so, hopefully in a week or so, I will see my winter aconites in bloom. It really is a lovely time of year.
