Noah's Sub help!!! Someone with original pattern...

I'm *THIS* close to finishing the bottom half of Noah's Sub and I've run into a problem with a symbol that's not on the colour list. I'm working from the new, reprinted pattern. If someone has the original printing could they please check and see what the correct colour is? I'd be extremely grateful. In the bottom left corner in the water (pattern page 5) there is a shark-type swimming animal, purple with red stripes. On the pattern area around his mouth are two similar symbols. The first is a square, divided horizontally with the top half filled in. This is listed in the chart as floss colours Anchor 293, DMC 727, J&P Coats 2289. Interspersed with these is a second symbol, a square, divided in half diagonally, with the lower half filled in. This symbol is used in the quarter-stitches that delineate the shark's teeth. This symbol isn't listed on the floss listing/colour key. Thanks in advance, this group has always come through! Heather PS I have emailed Stoney Creek, but wouldn't anticipate an answer until after the Easter weekend... and this is ALL I have left to do in the bottom of the piece!

I'm afraid I can't help with your problem, but I do have a question. Did you do all the confetti stitching in the sky or use a dyed fabric? IIRC, that was a topic on here a while back and there didn't seem to be a majority of opinion one way or another. Not that I want to start anything, I was just wondering on my own account. I'd really love to do this pattern sometime, and I'm really not sure what to do about this part of it. I found a good close photo of the finished project with confetti stitches, and it looked like there were way too many for my attention span and length of patience. The ones I've seen done on dyed fabric still look really nice and to me don't detract from the picture by not having the stitches. It seems to me the ones I saw were hand dyed fabrics that had varied coloration all across the fabric.

Hi Suze, I'm actually only just getting ready to start the sky, but I'm stitching it all. It's not really confetti stitching though, just wide swaths of half-stitches. Actually, the first part I tried while my wrist was hurt went like lightning, so I'm looking foward to getting to it and seeing it go quickly! Heather

Ok, thanks. Just thought I'd remembered someone here saying it was confetti.
