Hello fellow stitchers
I was just wondering, if there is a message board for Thea Governeur? I'm stitching her King Tut design.
Thanks

I don't think there is an 'official' site, although I've seen msn ones relating to projects. Her website doesn't appear to have a message board. See

She is listed on Amazon as well!

Thank Cheryl.
I took a look at amazon.ca, and it looks like they have the Flowers in Cross Stitch as well as the Secret Garden in Cross Stitch ... in French. Which to buy, which to buy?
I generally try to stick to Canadian sources, when I can, but I might have to make an exception in this case. Dora
You are most welcome. Have you looked at any of the Canadian used booksellers?
Cheryl
I have Flowers in Cross Stitch and I don't think it was worth the money (at least it was expensive in hardcover in the US). Many of the graphs are too small to be usable so must be enlarged. And the charts are done in a combination of color and symbol that really need to be enlarged on a color photocopier (also expensive.)
Also I was very sorry that the tulips on the back cover are not charted in that colorway - they're lavender and yellow on the cover (and also in the completed project picture!) and yellow and white in the chart and no substitutions given. And the gorgeous red poppies on the front cover are charted in oranges, not reds. Why why why?
Of course I'm still keeping it because there are beautiful designs in it - TG is a splendid designer and uses no fractional stitches or backstitch (or very little) and gets great results. I just wish that the book served her work better. There are pages and pages of photographs of nature and flowers - I would have preferred fewer of these so that the charts could be printed on more pages and larger!
Alison (just tell us how you really feel..)
I'm not aware of any online Canadian used booksellers. Anyone? The RL used bookstores tend to get cleaned out of craft books pretty quickly IME. Dora
I'm leaning towards Secret Garden, mostly because of the bulb and herb patterns. I've seen similar comments about the charts for Secret Garden, modified by a 'however, the book is gorgeous' sort of comment. Sorry to hear the tulips don't come in lavendar. A peeve-worthy omission. I've seen them in a pillow and they caught my eye. Dora
