No Octagones but a wonderful collection of unusual afghans , you can find in Country Afghans , The Vanessa-Ann collection, Oxmoor house 1994 mirjam
I found several when I googled free pattern octagonal crochet afghan.
Alternatively, you could post your request on r.c.t.yarn, lots of keen crocheters over there.
