Well its a go

So I bought my tickets last night now all I need are stitch shops in Portland Seattle areas. I saw someone posted one for Portland is it by the airport or near? I need to give the info to my sister so she can incorporate it in to our itinerary. Anything fun going on the last week of July I should know about? My DH thought it was crazy that I want to go to a stitch shop but hey why not? TIA DonnaD

It's not near the airport and takes a bit of finding. Tell your sister it's off Hwy 26(?) past Beaverton (I think the exit after the cemetary) and south toward Something-Ferry (though there isn't a ferry in sight). It's in a two-story office building (dark brown last time I saw it) back from the road and on a curve, so a bit challenging to find.

The last time I was there (obviously ages ago!), it was a great shop. Friendly personnel and lots to see.

And if you're also headed to the Seattle area, you can head east to Issaquah (it's on Interstate 90) to Threadneedle Street. Denise has a great selection of fabric and fibers; some unique designs; also needlepoint.

Have fun in the great and wonderful northwest. Can't wait til I get back home (projected to be mid-August).

I've been to that shop -- I was visiting a friend in Portland a couple of years ago, and we went out there. It's a lovely shop, and the owner is a delight. It's definitely worth a visit.

Its west on 26- off the Sylvan exit on Scholls Ferry Road (before Beaverton) if that helps...
