I've been working showing and sellinng since 1970. Any help or suggestions appreciated. Nancy Jane

Well, where has she applied to then? I assume she has applied somewhere

- the academic year begins in september so if she hasn't applied already, I don't think she'll be making in this year. Some rough idea of where you might be living would be helpful in working out what advice to give you.

Have you checked your immigration status? Unless you have some right of abode in the UK or the EU, you can't just turn up and start to work (or earn a living by making and selling). Start at

If you want some help and advice, you'll have to give people somethingto work with. If you just have some vague notions, then I don't thinkyou'll get much valuable input (apart from scorn for displaying aparochial attitude, which actually would be valuable input if you needto learn to lose a parochial attitude). If you do just have vague notions start by learning a bit about our country and our ways: there's stacks of stuff on the 'net: perhaps start by reading the national daily papers (unlike the US we have a fine stable of serious newspapers with much international and nationwide news). BBC TV and Radio is available on the Internet: start with Radio4.
