The ordering is a little strange, but I agree - if you need a neutral light color - almost any light colored thread will work. If you need a dark, same thing. The very first quilt instructor I had told us to use yellow for piecing - & I used yellow for a few years - now I have branched out:)

Polly - have you tried the Italian Genziana that Carmen Warehouse is carrying? Just wondering how it compares to Aurifil.

Almost. I use a lot of baby blue in my preemie sewing and they didn't have anything close in Aurifil. I have a spool of the Genziana here in the gentle blue but haven't tried it yet. I guess this is not much of a test - but it looks okay. Next to be quilted is Silly Goose (that DH says looks like AFLAC to him) and it will be quilted in a sort of toasty gold. On the 'back burner' is a red/white/blue that I'll probably do in red. I'm surely hoping that the Genziana is great. I use a monstrous amount of thread and like the price. Polly

Look around this website and see if there is anything that fits the bill.I placed an order just today, so I can't attest to the service yet.
