We had wondered what had become of our JP - alias Joanne in Canada. Today, she sent a precious little flannel preemie quilt to me for the shelter. JP reports that her server is not allowing access to newsgroups - we all know about those woes - so she cannot read or post. She was just very pleased and proud to still be on the hug list. She said to tell all of you 'hello'. If any of you can offer her suggestions about how to wiggle around a cranky server, please see if you can help. Polly

I know this all too well, so many servers are now not renewing newsgroups. so you end up loosing all access.
she may end up having to pay extra to receive the newsgroups. I found a newgroups that is 2.95 per month for her, but I do not know a thing about it.. before joining I would ask if they carry RCTQ or ask if they will add it.
another options is Goggle groups.
Polly, if it's a new newsserver she needs, I signed up with

and it has been working great. It was about the cheapest I found and was recommended to me by serveral people on RCTQ It is a European based server, and charges are in pounds, but your credit card co. does the conversion. I was concerned when I first checked them out because they use a strange to me payment system. Similar to PayPal but I had just not heard of it. There haven't been any problems. If I remember right it was only about $15 Canadian for the whole year.

She can always go through Google Groups (groups.google.com) for free while she looks for a better solution.
