Almost OT

I am renovating a bassinette, recovering the 2 inch thick mattress. I am using "quilted" plastic (waterproof ). I know I need to use long stitches, but does anybody suggest what kind of thread, and can I turn the seam outside in or will it tear if I try. and so should leave the seams outside? TIA Kay

I would suggest that you sew the cover with an outside seam (wrong sides together) and cover that with bias tape for a clean finish. barnyowl - jennellh
