Thanks guys! It was wonderful....oh, and did I mention that in the gocart race, I totally dusted Ken?? LOL He said his car was the fastest, and he never came close to catching me...I almost lapped him, but then our time on the track was over . It was fun...heck, on our honeymoon, we went to a lazer tag place...guess we're just wired differently than others .
The great part was that the children actually behaved for my dad..only gave him a little bit of grief over bedtime, but then they settled down. Rebekah ended up having a rough night, though - I was up with her 4 or 5 times between 1130 and 300 . then she was up before
6...she went back to sleep for a while and we finally got moving at
730. I'm still jazzed.
I guess this was so important to us because we are trying to deal with Pop, and Ken's kidneys have been acting up lately, which is annoying him and distressing me. He has an appointment in November, so we will wait and see what the doctor says then. JMHO, it looks like he might end up on dialysis sooner than he thought - he has "expanded" by over 2 inches since getting diagnosed last September. So,....having a chance to eat non-diet food, with no children, having an adult conversation, and then getting to act like little kids without the worry of looking like fools...it was sweet.
Okay, I'm getting morbid and depressed now, so I need to get back into the sewing room and play with fabric for a while - halfway done with swap blocks, then I hope to catch up with the BOM. Once I knock those out of the way, it's on to more clothing...then I *think* I will be ready to rearrange the sewing room and get the cabinets off the floor and onto the walls (more floor space)...also have to get most of the non-sewing/non-quilting books out of there and back to my room...the quilting books and magazines have taken over an entire corner..falling off the bookshelf and everything!!
Larisa, rambling and trying to figure out what needs to get done in the house today
